Season's Elixirs
I had a great acupuncture session yesterday. I promise, you'd hardly feel the needles.
I had to push myself to go out in a virtual monsoon yesterday so I decided pick up vegetarian sushi and dessert to further encourage myself to get everything done despite the weather.

Holiday Glam Dates
My holiday datebook is comfortable, prioritizing the non-stressful. Last week, I attended a retro holiday film screening at the museum that allowed jeans and riding boots.
This week my top networking event is an adult play date at a museum. Young urban professionals will enjoy food and drinks while playing Twister, Connect Four, Uno, plus. I'm pretty amped up to play some of the games I loved as a girl. And while this is a holiday event, the dress code is casual chic. I want to be comfortable for the games but also add some festive flair to my outfit. I decided on some basic accessories fun to add glam while maintaining comfort.

Today's Joy List
- Shopping for healthy foods at the market - in fact I'm pretty sure I'm considered a grocery store line snob with my conveyor belt arrangement of all my healthy organic grains, fresh veggies and fruits :(
- Admiring and smelling the Fall bouquets in the market
- Enjoying aromatherapy at home
- Making a healthy remake of one of my favorite local Thai restaurant dinners
- Rocking a hot outfit - with (no) apologies to my womanist and feminist friends who question this joy! :)
- Fifteen minute at home yoga session
- Getting my to-do list completed
- At-home reflexology self-love
- A wonderful Donald Byrd mix
- G-chatting with a cool friend and arts colleague and wonder woman

Atlanta Fashion Week Event Pick

Fashionable Life Learned
Fashion Week is here for all intents and purposes as there is so much required to put this extravaganza together. From the flyers, phone calls, emails, and events in association with Fashion Week to the shows and the parties, networking and interviewing...whew! Get my point? Well, besides the work involved, there's lots of fun. Be sure to have some of it when you head to NYC or any affiliate locations throughout the world who heart all things fashion next week. I will be in the midst of the storm but I've committed myself to enjoying and while I'm working I am taking breaks often and going to my calm kit which includes:
1) Reading from books I'll be packing in my chic bag like the new volume Irreverent by Carine Roitfeld.
2) Giving myself hand reflexology treatments with yummy-scented handcreams. I like Pooka brand offerings.
3) Drinking H20!
4) Listening to Lalah Hathaway--especially her Self-Portrait hit entitled Breathe!

Smokey Eyes for Autumn
While the olive and pastel eyes are forces with which to reckon, I still love the smokey eye and especially for the upcoming season.
