Novel Addition to the Library

The world of fashion is brought into the life of a young Ghanian girl by her aunt and her life is never the same. Powder Necklace, the new featured read on everyone's summer reading list by bluefly.com fashion editor Nana Brew Hammond is a definite award winner. This is your soy chai latte for the day. If you can tell me the publisher of Hammond's volume, send me a comment with your data and get a Starbucks gift card for a smoothie!

July Datebook

(Zoe Saldana in Valentino)

Ok! Definitely get your groove on in New Orleans at this year's Essence Music Festival. Besides concerts, there are spiritual and financial wellness clinics. Have beignets and gumbo (make mine vegetarian...wait... is that even done in New Orleans?!) Visit the museums and of course the French Quarter for historical jewels, too.

If you're driving back east after all of the festivities, stop in Atlanta and chill for a spell before heading to Miami for the American Black Film Fest. On July 7, Phipps Plaza's Valentino location will host a  trunk show and you're on the guest list. The following week, famed make-up artist Ashunta Sheriff will demonstrate why she's on top of her game at a Phipps Dior Cosmetics event. After MIA, y'all be sure to make your way back to the ATL for  arts and culture goodness served up in heaps by the National Black Arts Festival! And as always click on kennedyhightowerpr.blogspot.com for the public relations and events needs of your business.
