Ok! Definitely get your groove on in New Orleans at this year's Essence Music Festival. Besides concerts, there are spiritual and financial wellness clinics. Have beignets and gumbo (make mine vegetarian...wait... is that even done in New Orleans?!) Visit the museums and of course the French Quarter for historical jewels, too.
If you're driving back east after all of the festivities, stop in Atlanta and chill for a spell before heading to Miami for the American Black Film Fest.
